Hi I am Wilco de Bruijn

I have been teaching violin with great pleasure since 1992.
In my lessons, you are the starting point. Everything is tailored to you, regardless of your level.

Beginners

As a beginner, we start with how to hold the violin and bow — without a book at first. I guide you through the basics step by step, so you develop a natural feel for the instrument. Once things start to feel familiar, we move on to a good teaching method that suits you. There are also plenty of beautiful, accessible pieces to play along the way.
You develop at your own pace and within your own possibilities.

Experience and accessibility

I have extensive experience working with people who are autistic, highly sensitive (HSP), or insecure, as well as people who learn differently. Violin lessons are also possible for people who are blind or visually impaired. Because of the personal approach, you can learn to play the violin in your own way.

Alongside traditional teaching methods, it is also possible to learn completely intuitively — playing from the inside rather than from a book. If you later want to learn to read music, we can start with that whenever you feel ready.

 

Relaxed playing

Relaxed violin playing is a challenge for many people, and a starting point for me. In a calm way, you become more aware of ease in your body. That ease means you stop working against the violin — everything starts to feel and sound natural.

Lessons are available from age 7, for both beginners and more advanced players. And if you are thinking: “Can I still start at my age?” — you are especially welcome.

Lessons are individual.

45-minute lesson: € 45
60-minute lesson: € 60

I generally follow the official school holidays of Wageningen.
